A responsorial psalm that carries the voice of praise from Yahweh to God to Allah–one and the same Creator.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

The spirit of the Lord is a reflection.
No one may see Him without seeing himself.
Visions of the world are numbered as the stars;
Lord of Hosts, you are many-named magnificent.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

Lay waste the plans of idle gathering,
the harvest of golden sheaves.
Relinquish your life,
And commit yourself to God.
For this is a Savior who gives that He may give;
You have given that you may receive.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

What worry is the fallow field
to a farmer, rich with seed?
What angst has the friend
of sheep herders among wolves?
For each life has been given its circumstance;
What have we, but to believe?

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

The Lord returns four-fold with love,
the sacrificial servant.
Four-fold is the reward for princes
who give the treasures of their coffers.
Four times again the Lord bestows
the leper with richness of health.
Who suffers more, that gains more;
Who owns the most, receives the bounty
of our God!

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

Has not each beating heart to each
an equal candle’s flame?
How so the condemnation of one bright light,
beacon for the world,
and not crusade for darkness?

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

The spirit of Truth is in all men rich,
yet it impoverishes the warring enemy.
No shadow of Him will endure the loss of life;
For He does not boast in annals of victory
and households of slaves.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

Grant God the torture of our days,
our fear to Him release.
That noble in our souls, of Him composed,
starlight bends to sun and back once more
with fire in our spirit
and Truth upon our lips.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

By God, His justice reigns;
my judgment I commend into His hands.
For my acts of righteousness, I give thanks;
The cost of wisdom is the secret of my heart.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.

My soul to God, I bless you;
Bless’d am I before you.
I give my life to your creation:
That I, within, may live and die in flame
Light of the world in understanding and love.

R. The Lord remembers all His people.
Allah, my God, is merciful.
